DESCRIPTION:“Chai” in Hindi and Urdu means tea. In South Asia tea or chai has cultural and historical significance along with economic and health benefits. Tea is and has been a major part of South Asian culture for a very long time\, traditionally\, chai time is a time of gathering\, a family time. The first written record of tea in Indian literature is in the Ramayna\, which was written between 750 and 500 BCE. Keeping this tradition in mind\, SAHARA holds a monthly gathering of older adults\, a circle of sharing where we get together to drink chai\, support each other\, have fun and talk about how to manage stress.
